090: The Beers of Christmas Past, Present, and Future

It is a Christmas miracle! Or maybe a belated Festivus miracle. Or maybe just a regular series of events that were thought out in advance... regardless of how it happened, we do know that it is another seasonally themed episode of the show. This time, with brand new special guests. Our heroes embark on a journey that brings them face-to-face with the beers of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Yet to Come. It would almost be a little harrowing, but the boisterous cheers of people playing Uno in the background takes the edge off a little bit.

089: It Doesn’t Rock

Happy Christmas, Ron! Or Happy --insert preferred celebration here--, really. We have a special bonus with this episode… Yes, it features Jeremy and Michael, but there is a special Christmas surprise too! A regular Festivus Miracle! We talk Mario, our favorite songs of the season, and of course beer. It’s a good one too. (wink emoji) (Christmas tree emoji) (snowman emoji)

088: Bad News Beers

I heard the news today, oh boy. Actually by the time this comes out, it won’t be news, it will be olds, but it is an important discussion for a beer podcast. We then drown our sorrows with a uniquely flavors quaff from Sixpoint. Also in the news: Michael poaches a beer brag from Jeremy, sending him to the Asylum. This just in, we talk about ASAPScience and ECW too.

087: Bits and Bobs

Here comes the money. Not burying the lead today: We try a currency related beer after a currency related quiz. Of course we have the usual beer brags (Michael had a strange combo of styles) and our Week in Geek (talking about an older, but good video game in light of recent news) too… but you came here for the beer, right?

086: Two Versions of Me, In Hop Form

We begin with Michael bragging about an unusual amber and Jeremy talking about some of that sticky-icky (fat) from his favorite Chicago brewery. Michael continues his YouTube science channel series and Jeremy hypes up a demonological show very worthy of the Week in Geek label. The scariness continues with a quiz on horror films. We then get into the FDR, which Michael and Jeremy are highly anticipating as it is a single hop, single malt brew. Does simplicity equal serendipity? There’s only one way to find out.

085: My Goo! The Thanksgiving Special

It is our Thanksgiving spectacular! We start off we beer brags fit for a feast (did somebody say five stars?) and some Thanksgiving talk. For the Week in Geek, Michael talks about some pumpkin spice dishes he’s been making for the season. Jeremy opens the floodgates about a metal show he went to, which elicits an impromptu quiz. Michael returns the favor with the “official” quiz that ties into the FDR. Finally, the FDR itself is perfect for the season and offers a chance at redemption for pumpkin beers.

084: Check Out My Can

...as in, beer can. But more of that later. We start out with some beer brags, including one from the vaunted Toppling Goliath. Michael starts a new series for the Week in Geek that focuses on good science channels on YouTube. Jeremy discusses “The Fireman” which spills into a conversation about Stephen King. Yes, an actual discussion about literature. Next is the “Check Out My Can” Quiz, which blends the FDR segment with some general knowledge questions. Then we sample this week’s beer and it is quite delicious.
