184: Take Our Quiz!

Michael kicks it off with an event brag on attending a talk from the author of The State of Beer, a book about breweries in Wisconsin. Then, on the exact opposite side of the spectrum, he "brags" about having Goose Island Oktoberfest and a Virtue Cider. Jeremy mentions a Double IPA that he had from Peace Tree Brewing. Next, we have a meandering discussion on horror movies and adaptations/remakes/reboots etc. Finally, it is time for the FDR, where we remain the Germany for yet another brew.

183: Trebuchet!

Jeremy and Michael both have event related beer brags. Jeremy went to a wedding reception at a beer garden in... Omaha? Where he indulged in Germans such as Hack-Pschorr and Warsteiner, as well as indulging in some La Trappe. Plus, an auxillary brag about Carlsberg Elephant. Michael went to a Pumpkin Chuck that was sadly cut short, but he managed to have an oktoberfest and an scotch ale. Also, he finally gets to add an addendum to Jeremy's beer brag from last year for Atomic Pumpkin. All this talk is sprinkled with Red Hots, Hot Tamales, and other cinnamon candy. We open up the American Pale Male Mail Pail to some Brews News about declining sales in American macros followed by Jeremy issuing a "correction". Finally, we get to the FDR, where we step outside Bavaria for a different type of German beer.

Remember the days of pre-big head Baldwin? I barely did. Jeremy brags about Octobot 3000, an imperial Oktoberfest of sorts. Michael plays catch-up by also imbibing the Sierra Nevada/Weihenstephan Oktoberfest collaboration. We then get into homebrew talk. Michael gives an update on the recipe that Jeremy devised for him then discusses a sweet, husk-ridden treat. Finally, it all devolves into zymurgy. Michael pulls a quiz from the internet, where we do not remember remember the Fifth of November. And lastly, it is FDR time, where an ancient Irish legend lends its name to a brew.

We open with... the Podcast Pitch? Jeremy talks about two hot button podcasts that he has been listening to. We then move on to an extended edition of beer brag, where Michael recounts a set of brews he had from Door County Brewing and Jeremy talks Hero IPAs from Revolution that he had in Chicago. Jeremy talks more of his Chicago travels, Oktoberfest brews, and some big beer hijinks that left him disappointed. Finally, we get into the FDR where we try an Oktoberfest style beer from Wisconsin. We are actually on time this year.

Michael asks Jeremy about what he has seen at concerts, Cenobites, and corned beef. Next we get into the FDR with a beer from Germany.

Last on deck is the FDR, where a brew intrigues the hosts on a level not seen in awhile.

Officially back in the studio, we kick it off with some beer brags. Jeremy finds joy in a Kolsch from Surly, whereas Michael had an amber he didn't really like that much and a weird gose at pub trivia. Michael quizzes Jeremy with tiebreaker questions before opening up the American Pale Male Mail Pail. We discuss TG brewing for HV, then discuss a video from a popular YouTube franchise involving cheap American Beer. Finally, we get into the FDR where we go back to Reunion again. This time it's personal. We also find out about Ekuanot.
