163: Has Science Gone Too Far?

Back once again! Michael opens up with some beer brags from a tap takeover of a local bar/gastropub/ale house, featuring Hop Haus, specifically a saison and a barrel aged stout. Jeremy counters with his own brag of a dubbel and a tripel from Great River. Next we open the American Pale Male Mail Pail, reading some thoughts from former co-host of the show Mike. Would cereal make a good beer infusion? Next, it's Brews News, breaking down George Washington's beer recipe and a corresponding marketing ploy. Finally, it's time for the FDR, where Jeremy gets to swear on the show with impunity.

162: Absolute Zero Label Indicator

After a maligned computer attempts to stymie our recording, we kick off with some beer brags - Michael actually has one! He brags about the collaborative Common Thread and Jeremy brags about a brew he had from Fullers. Next we talk about The Most Important Beers of All Time. This is serious stuff people. Then we talk about putting infusing beer using a French press! Finally, it is time for the FDR, where an international collaboration brings a curious brew to our palate.

161: Beer Slugline

Jeremy opens the show recapping the some brews he's had in lieu of Michael's transient sobriety. Namely, we call back to the Hemperor, which Jeremy got his hands on. Next, he reviews some local brews from Vegas, as well as musing on the results of the comped beer strategy we discussed last week. Michael brings some brews news on making hoppy beer without hops. Finally, we get into the FDR, diving into the deep end of Loch Gray.

160: Bourbonity

It is a hybrid episode - half-studio, half-live. We start the show with a contrite rationale for the piecemeal approach. Then Jeremy brings a beer brag to get things back on track. We then discuss the ideal brew at the blackjack table, then get into the heart of the matter: Russia vs. Canada. After some Alaska talk, we throw to the FDR that was recorded live, pitting two huge barrel aged stouts against each other.

159: Diagonal Flight

We are (recording) live in Iowa City for this episode, joined by friend of the show Steve. After a triad of beer brags, we get into a quiz about music and movies of yesteryear to much groans and moans. Then we get right into the FDR, which involves a flight of beers that we have wanted to try side-by-side for some time now. The results intrigue to the extent that the ratings system is not robust to handle it.

158: Hurlometer

Michael cannot beer brag because he has no beers to brag, but Jeremy makes up for it with two brews to boast about. What's Thew with you. Then we have some mail from the American Pale Male Mail Pail about brews at theme parks. After an aside about harvesting yeast, we get to the FDR, which is a beer from a band. Michael drops some knowledge about said band, then we imbibe.

157: Working Man's Chalice

It is our third Anniversary Show! Osmium tuxedos on, Jeremy starts with a segment inspired by a beer brag when he asks, what midwest state makes the best beer? After considering this, Michael chips in his beer brag, White Monkey from Victory. We then move on to a quiz on guessing the value of chase beers, much to our amazement. Michael rattles off the stats from the past year and then we move on to the FDR. We bring the prestige this week and it relates to another beer that we had for another milestone (and a video game journalist named Simone?)
