084: Check Out My Can

...as in, beer can. But more of that later. We start out with some beer brags, including one from the vaunted Toppling Goliath. Michael starts a new series for the Week in Geek that focuses on good science channels on YouTube. Jeremy discusses “The Fireman” which spills into a conversation about Stephen King. Yes, an actual discussion about literature. Next is the “Check Out My Can” Quiz, which blends the FDR segment with some general knowledge questions. Then we sample this week’s beer and it is quite delicious.

083: Rodney Shoots Bertrum

Coming hot off the heels of a Halloween candy induced coma, The Males are back at it again. We have some rip-roaring beer brags featuring flatulent insects and some beers sampled at an Oktoberfest (some good, some not-so-hot). We then discuss our Top 3 Mario games of all time… the choices my surprise you. Jeremy then discusses a show he highly recommends, Mr. Robot, then pops a quiz on wrestling gimmicks (and I mean it this time). Finally, the FDR features a beer that is a bit “off color”. Was that too obvious?

082: Deep Fried Halloween Candy

Welcome to American Pale GHOULS! That doesn’t really work, does it? Unlike that pun, we did make an earnest effort for this Halloween special. Michael and Jeremy sample some homebrews that they made, including the much discussed grapefruit cider and What’s the Rhubarb II: Urban Harvest. After some back-slapping, we move to the kitchen where we deep fry and sample some Halloween standards. Finally, we lose our heads over the FDR beer. Well, not really, but if we had, it would have made a great pun.

081: Is It John Candy or Not?

On this podcast we try Polygamy. It was pretty good. We recommend everyone try it. Now that the trite double-entendre is out of the way, here’s what else is on this ep. Michael gives an update on the grapefruit cider project. Jeremy drank a wit and may be seeing John Candy. We then discuss the new season of South Park and have a new Podcast Pitch. We then try our hand at some Simpsons Trivia, which may be a bit too deep of a dive, but oh well. Finally, it is FDR time (see above).

080: Crazy Neighbor Steve

Has this ever happened to you? Michael and Jeremy are enjoying pleasant conversation, bragging about beers, talking about geeky stuff, when the crazy next door neighbor peeks over the white picket fence and invites himself over. Then again, we were in the crazy neighbor’s yard when it happened… so I guess that is fair. This episode we have a wrestling Podcast Pitch, a report from Riotfest, and a quiz about said Riotfest. Not a music fan? Well, in that case, hopefully you like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The FDR features a uniquely made beer, which gives The Males something to ponder over.

079: Machine Dance of Death

We are a basement for this recording! And it is late at night! ...So the show is low key, but still packed with awesome features, including a new quiz segment that raises the stakes. Michael recommends an excellent and accessible trippel, while Jeremy’s beer brag inspires a visit “to the Internet!” The Males then reminisce about tailgating memories, as it is college football season. We the premier the “Machine Dance of Death” quiz, where the loser must FDR a terrible mystery beer… and it was terrible. We then get back to the good stuff with an FDR, but with an additional criteria: Will it tailgate?

078: Oktoberfest 2

We are once again back for a live face-to-face recording. When I say "we" I mean Michael and Jeremy of course, while Mike is being a dad and stuff. We kick it off with some beer brags. Michael had an imperial... pilsner? And Jeremy had something local from a brewpub. Michael then consults Jeremy for thoughts on brewing a "cider" while Jeremy talks about a movie that shocked him like nothing else before. Also, it is Oktoberfest time! We line up our quiz and FDR accordingly.
